Learn More About Peer Education at Bryn Mawr
OwlWell's Peer Health and Wellness Educators (PHWEs) provide crucial health and wellness resources and education to the campus community. Read on to learn more about our fabulous PHWEs!
PHWEs are dedicated Bryn Mawr students who work in OwlWell to support holistic health and wellness on campus. They provide open office hours, educational programming, community connection events, resource referrals, and much more!
PHWEs go through an extensive 25+ hour training prior to the start of the academic year to prepare for their roles. Some of the areas the PHWEs cover in training include, but are not limited to:
- Health behavior theories
- Motivational interviewing
- History and application of self care
- Resource referral
- Boundary setting and values clarification
- Educational program development
It is important to note that, while OwlWell's two professional staff members are confidential resources, the PHWEs are not confidential resources.
The 2024 / 2025 PHWEs are ...
- Anadys Rodriguez
- Ava Smith
- Sal Shin
- Sinthia Ahammed
- Tori Li
- Zahraa A Zamir
