Funding Opportunities

The Faculty Research Pool is for the remuneration of minor expenses related to research and publication. Up to $700 per year is available to tenured, tenure-track and continuing (CNTT) faculty.  Professors holding named chairs may have other research funds and are not eligible to apply. 

The Faculty Travel Pool provides $2,200 for continuing faculty members to share their work with others at conferences and other scholarly forums.​ 

College Awards and Grants provide support for larger research projects.  These grants are competitive and faculty members must apply.  The maximum request is $5,000.  Twice per year, the Committee on Faculty Awards and Grants reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Provost, who makes the final decisions.

Tri-College Faculty Forum Grants funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, were established to support initiatives and programs that foster collaborations between faculty at Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges. These collaborations can be in the areas of research, pedagogy, governance or service, and work/life balance.  See the Mellon Tri-College Forum - Faculty Development Initiative website for more details.
