The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major is an interdepartmental major between the Biology and Chemistry Departments. It serves as a rigorous preparation for a career in biochemistry or biotechnology, graduate school in biochemistry or a related field, or enrollment in a health-related professional school.
During the first two years, the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology coursework combines foundational courses in chemistry, biology, and the related sciences. In the third and fourth years of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology curriculum, students choose from a variety of courses to best match their interests and career plans. Advanced coursework in more focused topics is required and a rich array of research opportunities is also available.
Over the four years of study, students will also complete Bryn Mawr College’s liberal arts requirements, which expose students to different modes of thinking to prepare them to be thoughtful and engaged citizens in our increasingly global and diverse world.
