Georgette Chapman Phillips '81
Georgette Chapman Phillips ‘81 is a Distinguished Alumna in residence at Bryn Mawr College affiliated with the Department of Growth and Structure of Cities. She recently retired from the position of Kevin L. and Lisa A. Clayton Dean of Lehigh University’s College of Business and was a professor in both the Perella Department of Finance in the College of Business and in the Africana Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Before joining Lehigh University, she was the David B. Ford Professor of Real Estate, and Professor of Legal Studies at Wharton and Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She held several administrative appointments including Vice Dean and Director of the Undergraduate program at Wharton. Prior to joining the Penn faculty she was in private law practice in New York and Philadelphia. Her research examines the built environment at the intersection of law, urban planning and economics. She lectures internationally on topics in urban planning and real estate and has published widely on these topics. She is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. She received her JD from Harvard Law School and her AB in Political Science with a concentration in Hispanic Studies from Bryn Mawr College.
