Pedagogy Circles
The idea of a “Pedagogy Circle” was developed by a department at Bryn Mawr and two Teaching and Learning Institute (TLI) student partners through the Summer Pedagogical Partnership Program work and the fourteen, one-time, small-group conversations offered through the Liberal Arts Collaborative for Digital Innovation (LACOL) in the Fall of 2020.
Pedagogy Circles for Mattering
Pedagogy Circles for Mattering are open to faculty, administrators, staff, and students at Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges. They are facilitated by TLI Student Consultants, aim to support cross-constituency dialogue, and offer a space for members of the community to explore how they are acting on and working toward anti-racism, diversity, inclusivity, and equity within and beyond classrooms.
Pedagogy Circles for BIPOC Faculty
Pedagogy Circles for BIPOC Faculty are open to any BIPOC faculty member at Bryn Mawr or Haverford College. They are co-facilitated by BIPOC TLI Student Consultants, aim to provide a joyful and affirming space, and carry a stipend for participating faculty to “acknowledge the additional emotional and intellectual labor in which they are engaged” (Alison Cook-Sather, Kayo Stewart, Rhoda Ameyaa, & Lela Aisha Jones, (2023), Co-creating Spaces for Full Selves: Student-Facilitated Pedagogy Circles for BIPOC Faculty, The Journal of Faculty Development 37(1), 69-71, p. 70).
