Innovation in Action: Apply for a Pilot Grant
Funding Opportunities for Innovative Projects
We need the community’s best ideas. We learn together at Bryn Mawr College as we design, pilot, evaluate/reflect, and – in some cases – scale ideas to build innovative approaches to the College’s next chapter. You can read about efforts in process and apply for pilot funding to get involved.
To support the community’s innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit, $100,000 in presidential discretionary funds will be available to current faculty, staff and students in the 2025-26 academic year to design and pilot projects that advance one of the four core areas of the emerging strategic plan.
-
Redoubling our commitment to academic excellence
-
Providing holistic student support
-
Advancing a community approach to access and inclusion
-
Enhancing our external visibility: positioning Bryn Mawr in the world
Apply for a Pilot Project Grant
All ideas are welcome. Priority will be given to proposals that involve multiple units at the college (e.g., dining and residential life, an academic department and the Undergraduate College Division, the Graduate School for Social Work and Social Research and Facilities) as well as those leading to the streamlining and simplification of existing efforts.
Funds may be used to design, pilot, or evaluate/reflect on a pilot project already in motion.
-
Applications are due on the first of each month from October 1 through March 1, 2026.
-
All funds granted must be spent by December 31, 2026.
-
Decisions will be made by the senior staff in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
-
A short summary of grants awarded will be shared with the community in the Lantern and at monthly programmed coffee hours. Recipients of funds will present their findings at the final community coffee hour of the year/or lunch in April/May 2026.
