2023 Summer Opportunities Fair Presents a Host of Opportunities for Students
On the afternoon of February 3, the Campus Center was filled with excitement as more than 130 students attended the 2023 Summer Opportunities Fair. The event featured more than 20 programs offering potential job and internship opportunities for the upcoming summer, including both local and global options.
The fair was a huge success, building on the momentum of a smaller event held during International Education Week in fall 2022. Students had the chance to chat with representatives from various departments, including Dining Services, Conferences and Events, and the Registrar's Office. Representatives from DIS and IES were also present, providing students with an opportunity to ask questions about study abroad programs. First-year students, in particular, were eager to learn about what they could do during their first summer.
In addition to learning about job and internship opportunities, the fair offered students the chance to ask the registrar real-time questions about credit-related issues. The event also provided space for students to converse with their peers and representatives from various departments.
A wide variety of programs and departments participated in the fair, including the Jordan Arabic Language and Interdisciplinary Learning Program, Russian Language Institute/Bryn Mawr Russian Domestic Flagship, Institut d'Avignon, STEM Summer Teaching Program, Innovation Academy Sustainability Internships Program in Germany, Bryn Mawr Study Abroad, IES Abroad, DIS Abroad, Ghana Thinking Together/LTT Action Research Fellowship, Civic Engagement Summer of Service, Internship Partners, Arthur Liman Fellowship for Public Service, Center Summer Internship Funding Program for Self-Design Internships (both US/International), Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, The Impact Center Summer Fellowship, Summer Science Research Program, LITS Digital Technology Internships, Digital Scholars Fellows Program, Careers in Library and Information Science, Special Collections Summer Internships, Who Built Bryn Mawr, Dean’s Office Summer Fellowships, Registrar's Office, and Student Employment.
Organizers of the event were thrilled to see the fair generate questions and provide valuable information to students about potential opportunities and look forward to continue growing this event in the future.
