Living Campus
Living Campus is a digital map that broadens access to Bryn Mawr's trees, gardens, and benches.
In 2018, Kate Fernandez and Cara Palladino applied to Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) to create a digital map that broadened access to Bryn Mawr’s Living Campus of trees, gardens, and benches. The primary goal of the project, they stated, was “to create a searchable site that descendants and others can use to look up a particular bench or tree, find out where it is located on campus, and view photographs and other information about it online.”
Over the course of the next 18 months, staff and students collaborated to produce a searchable map with photographs of many of the donated trees and benches. The map’s dynamic nature means new data points can be added, and the map can grow with the changing campus landscape.
